Mentorship Programme
Trying to figure out how to make a difference in the world is hard. It's easier when you have someone you can talk things through with.
EA Oxford’s mentorship programme gives community members an opportunity to personalise their EA journey by having a guide who supports them in exploring more about EA ideas and cause prioritisation. Our goal is to help you think through the considerations you need to have a high-impact career using EA principles. Your guide will regularly chat with you about whatever you find useful: for example discussing EA, chatting about your experiences in the EA community, and offering career support and advice.
Our programme is flexible, but most people meet with their guide six times throughout the term. The first chat doesn’t commit you to anything, and if you enjoy it then you’ll carry on meeting with your guide for the rest of term. If you’re unsure about whether the mentorship programme is right for you, we recommend you just sign up and give the first chat a go!
What you’ll get from the mentorship programme:
Connection with a guide from the EA Oxford committee.
Personal support in learning about EA ideas and cause prioritisation, and in thinking through your career plans. Your guide can direct you to resources, connect you with people and organisations in the EA community, as well as give advice.
An opportunity to explore EA by letting your own uncertainties and interests guide you.
Why sign up to the mentorship programme?
Get support about whatever it is that is most important to you in your EA journey right now, whether that’s learning more about cause prioritisation, thinking about next career steps, or just chatting to someone about your experiences in the community.
Explore EA and cause prioritisation in a way that is guided by your own uncertainties and interests. For many people, this is one of the best ways for learning more.
Get to know people in the community better. Being part of our community is something that many people find valuable and motivating when pursuing their own altruistic goals.
